Back in my School days, I really struggled with maths! It took a lot of effort for me to barely scrape a pass.  If you had asked my maths teacher what industry I would end up working in, financial services would have been the last thing on his mind! We often hear concerns from new entries to the industry about maths and how important it is.  Some of the exams that you will need to pass do involve formulas and calculations, there is no denying that! And, on a day-to-day basis, you may well be involved in some calculations in your job role, but you also have a lot of software available to help you.  If I could go back 10 years, and speak to the younger version of myself, I would tell her that it really isn't about my capability, but actually the materials I was using and how I was being taught. School for many people, involves everyone being expected to learn in the same way at the same pace.  Despite my initial worries, I was able to pass all of my exams to gain the Level 4 Diploma, and I have recently passed an Advanced Taxation exam (in fact, this may make me sound a little bit sad, but I actually quite like tax calculations these days!).
