LIBF’s Diploma for Financial Advisers (DipFA) is a comprehensive qualification that meets the FCA's requirements for financial advisers. It provides both theoretical knowledge and practical skills essential for a career in financial advice. Closely aligned to the role that advisers undertake, the qualification consists of six modules:

Module 1: Financial Services Regulation and Ethics (FSRE)
This foundational module introduces financial services regulations, ethics, and client skills through a two-hour multiple-choice exam split into two units.

Modules 2-5: Advanced Financial Advice
Covering Taxation, Investments, Protection, and Retirement Planning through individual 90-minute multiple-choice exams, each of which is split into two units.

Module 6: Advanced Financial Advice Coursework
A practical assessment based on a pre-released fact find requiring detailed analysis and recommendations.

KEY BENEFIT: This qualification offers a flexible, practical route to becoming a financial adviser. Study online, on-demand, with case study-based learning that mirrors real advisory work. No final timed written exam – just practical coursework aligned to the role that advisers undertake. Complete modules in any order and pay as you go. Having modules split into two units means if you fail a unit, you only need to resit the unit you failed rather than the whole module.

KEY CONSIDERATION: The coursework module (Module 6) has specific submission dates throughout the year, allowing you to select your preferred date that best fits around your personal commitments and career progression.
